Welcome back to school! I hope everyone had a great summer and is ready for an excellent school year! My name is Katy Moyneur (Coach Moyneur) and this is my first year at LCM. I have two amazing aides, Amy Kelts (Coach Kelts) and Aaron Ruiz (Coach Ruiz), who help out with my PE classes.
I'll start with a little background about me. I grew up in Escondido, where I played a variety of sports through out my childhood. I've always had a love for athletics and physical fitness. I attended San Pasqual High School where I earned eleven varsity letters. After I graduated from SPHS I earned a full scholarship to play field hockey at the University of Michigan. In 2001, I was a member of the National Championship Field Hockey team. I received my K-12 Physical Education credential at the University of Michigan in 2006 and received my Master of Arts in Teaching with a Specialization in Best Practices in 2010.
This is my fifth year teaching physical education and over the past four years I've coached Varsity Field Hockey and JV Soccer at Valley Center High School. I plan on teaching and coaching until I retire and I'm very excited about being a member of the LCM team!
La Costa Meadows prides itself on the Dolphin Way. I would like to carry that over into my PE classes. The Dolphin Way is: do your best, help others succeed, and respect your school. All three are important to be successful in school and that includes my PE class. I'm looking forward to a great school year and I hope you are too!
