Mandarin Chinese FLAP Program |
San Marcos Unified School District was awarded a federal grant last year through the Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP).This three-year grant allows us to offer a Mandarin Chinese Language program to elementary students during the school day.
Current 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students are eligible for participation in the program for the 2011-12 school year. The program is offered at Carrillo Elementary, La Costa Meadows Elementary, and San Elijo Elementary. The grant also allows us to offer the program at San Elijo Middle School starting in the 2011-12 school year. The ultimate goal is to have students who would be ready to take higher levels of Mandarin Chinese while attending San Marcos High School.
